Provides leadership and ongoing education to outpatient coding team. Develops and implements cross-training plans for in for individual coders.
Monitors EPIC work queues and daily productivity to ensure compliance with DNFB goals. Acts as a liaison to the billing office regarding outpatient coding and charge issues. Collaborates with Revenue Integrity on CDM initiatives. Responsible for timely responses to third party payors on Outpatient denials.
Five year’s previous hospital coding experience with extensive . Experience and/or knowledge of outpatient codingStrong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology. Continuing education necessary.
this position requires RHIA or RHIT. The CCS or other credentials are on top of that.
Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
License (or Certification):CCS Preferred; License (or Certification):RHIA Preferred; License (or Certification):RHIT Preferred; Education:ASSOCIATE Required
