Position Purpose: Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers! As a Hostler, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting tractor trailers on Operating Company property, including loading docks and designated parking areas, and to offsite maintenance or inspection facilities.
Primary Responsibilities: The Hostler is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.
- Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.
- Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving.
- Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always.
- Completes all required documentation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
- 6 months driving experience
- Internal candidates may be promoted with less than 6 months experience with good performance record in accordance with driver training program requirements.
- Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.
- Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
- 1 years Foodservice distribution industry experience
- Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., PeopleNet)
- Class A CDL(Not required)
