Position Summary:
The Operations Manager Trainee role is a position designed to prepare you for a management career within Core-Mark's organization. As a manager trainee, you'll gain hands-on experience leading personnel to include recruiting safety and compliance food safety measures, training, and other projects in a friendly and supportive learning environment. Our trainees assist operations management across Warehouse, Transportation, and Facilities. The Operations Manager Trainee will assist in managing to an established operations budget and plans for future growth and assisting in the implementation of changes as needed to accommodate business needs. Functions as a team member within the department and organization as required and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Compensation: $55,000-65,000 base salary
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for learning DOT & OSHA safety programs and systems; operations business processes, systems & tools; performance management; dispatch & routing; fleet maintenance.

Responsible for learning and assisting with vendor/supplier negotiations for packaging, shrink wrap, pallet parts, and other necessary items.

Collaborates with all frontline managers to learn the day-to-day business operations (i.e. Warehouse Manager, Transportation Manager, Inventory Manager, Logistics Manager, District Sales Managers)

Works with safety to continue to create a safety conscious culture

Completes the assigned Perform curriculum and all other assigned trainings

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- Associates/2-Year Technical Degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is Supply Chain, Business or related field is preferred.
- 1-2 years of leadership experience in the warehouse, transportation, or distribution field is preferred.
- Experience in foodservice, wholesale, retail or convenience is highly desired.
