Summary/Objective Working in a team environment, the Shipping Clerk is responsible for pulling and packaging orders. Loading trucks, providing proper paperwork and documentation while assisting in daily shipping operations. Essential Functions: Associate picks parts from the customer’s pick slip and assure correct quantity and correct parts are pulled. Associate assures the accuracy of customer shipments. Associate packages customer’s order and confirms accuracy of order. Customer orders are packaged to help prevent any damage in transit. (i.e. bubble wrap/proper box size and all product is boxed). Assures the smooth flow of shipping documentation. Associate stocks replacement parts when necessary Associate fills out shortage board and removes shorts as they come in. Associate completes work orders distributed daily Requires the ability to learn and understand lean principles Prepare UPS shipments Serves as team member and resource for Corken opportunity teams Actively participates in problem prevention and problem solving as part of Corken’s ongoing program of continuous improvement Accurately performs required inventory transactions in the inventory system (RF-Smart or JD Edwards (JDE)) Safely operates Forklift and other material handling equipment per the plant safety policies Performs other duties as required Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety to self and co-workers. Report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources and immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability Other duties as assigned Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required Forklift certification Preferred Education and Experience Three years (3) of shipping experience Additional Eligibility Qualifications Demonstrate good organizational skills and good follow-up techniques Must be able to multitask Ability to work in a fast pace envir onment Must be detail oriented and goal driven Basic math requirements, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Ability to calculate percentages, discounts, credit amounts, cancelation fees, and restocking charges Basic computer skills Demonstrate responsibility, respect, dependability, patience, and productivity in order to create a positive work environment Supervisory Responsibility None Travel No travel Work Environment Exposure to manufacturing environment. Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to noisy/loud in the plant area. Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, goggles, safety glasses, gloves, apron and face shield must be observed.
