What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employment Specialist/IPS position at Cornerstone Services Inc.?
General Functions: Provide comprehensive services to clients including intake, standardized testing, community assessments, job development, and retention. Serve as a member of the Community Support Team (CST) as well as a MHP for planning and delivery of Medicaid mental health services. Provide follow-up support services to clients.
Specific Functions: Promote choice, self-determination, and active participation throughout the employment process.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of special populations including those with cultural differences, mental illness, and dual diagnoses.
Perform comprehensive intake to assist with planning.
Develop, implement, and update a Vocational Action Plan for each client in the program in an orderly, purposeful, and goal directed manner, ensuring client involvement in the development, implementation, and update of the plan.
Select and properly administer assessment tests, as determined by individual need. Areas to be assessed may include current functioning, learning styles, and vocational interest.
Conduct/attend staffing's with the Treatment Team to evaluate the client's progress, completing documentation promptly and sharing with pertinent members of the team.
Promptly notify all concerned parties regarding changes in case status.
Conduct community assessments and assess needed environmental or job task modifications.
Conduct client training in areas related to acquisition and retention of employment, including work habits, transportation, social skills, interview skills, etc.
Assist clients to enhance coping skills.
Provide follow-up support services to clients while establishing natural supports for individuals served.
Provide counseling as needed and determine ancillary services that might be required.
Maintain client case records, ensuring timely documentation of all reports and forms.
Provide orientation and complete orientation checklist for new clients as assigned.
Assist with clinical coverage, as necessary.
Provide crisis management, as necessary.
Spend 65% of work hours in the community establishing business relationships or providing vocational services for clients.
Document six face-to-face employer contacts each week.
Maintain all applicable standards, sponsoring agency guidelines, and Cornerstone Services, Inc. policies.
Compile and distribute reports to Coordinator of Employment Services.
Perform additional duties, as assigned.
- Maintain ongoing compliance with all agency-related training and certification requirements.
- Respond per established procedures to all emergency situations including medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather, and other hazards.
- Operate agency or personal vehicle in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Own, maintain, and use personal smartphone for company business in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree inhuman services, consistent with requirements for Mental Health Professional, (bachelor's degree in related field, practical nursing license, or minimum of five years supervised experience in mental health/human services). Driving record and auto insurance coverage in accordance with agency policy. A post offer physical and criminal background check required. Reliable transportation required. EOE.
