Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician
The Ophthalmic Technician will facilitate the smooth and efficient processing of new and returning patients throughout testing and treatment procedures. Will strive to anticipate the needs of patients and Doctors. Will model pleasant, professional, and collaborative behavior and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Greet patient in a professional and pleasant manner
- Obtain and document history in chart on EHR
- Perform pre-exam tests, including A/R, mini V/F, color VA’s stereo vision, lensometer reading, VA’s, pupil check, motility, IOP’s and dilation
- Perform diagnostic testing – OCT, fundus and slit-lamp photos, VF
- Assist doctor in minor procedures
Auxiliary Functions:
- Open, close and clean procedure, and exam rooms
- Clean and autoclave instruments
- Monitor and stock procedure and exam rooms
- Assist doctor in satellite offices as needed
- Pull and file back patient charts
- Fax prescription refills and pre-authorization requests
- Inventory medical/back-office supplies
- Call and confirm next day appointments
Travel:
This job will require the candidate to have reliable personal transportation to travel between Corning and Willows as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
