- HR leader to Research & Modeling organizations, leading the creation of an integrated talent strategy for the Research and Modeling communities across Corning. Ensures client groups have the right number and type of talent required to execute division strategy and grow Corning’s position as Technology leaders and ensuring that employee perspective is considered when making strategic decisions.
- Ensures client groups establish and maintain a positive work environment in support of Corning’s Values and the Technology Community culture initiative.
- Leads the successful implementation of global HR business processes within client groups
- Manages the successful operation of Research & Modeling Promotion Committees
- Guides the creation and deployment of Research and Modeling training and development activities in collaboration with the Technology Community Training function.
- In collaboration with the Technology Community HR Director, provides HR leadership support for Corning Research Centers across the globe.
- Direct accountability for supporting Research and Modeling leaders and their teams, balancing multiple and sometimes conflicting requirements resulting from parallel participation in multiple Directorate staffs
- Coach Research and Modeling leaders in the development and implementation of required programs and processes to establish and maintain a positive work environment in support of desired Technology Community culture.
- Lead critical project work in support of companywide Talent Development planning and implementation strategies. Partner with client groups enable implementation of developmental activities that address targeted talent gaps in a timely manner
- In coordination with Technology Community HR function, lead deployment of key HR processes for the Research & Modeling organizations– compensation, performance management, talent management/people reviews, immigration, hiring, restructuring, recognition, diversity, leadership/supervisory development, career development and training
- Assume responsibility for leading strategic HR initiatives across the Technology Community in partnership with members of the Technology Community HR function.
- Lead workforce planning for the Research and Modeling communities, to identify current and future talent requirements. Partner with Research HR Manager and client leadership teams to identify and implement a compelling employee value proposition that enables Corning to attract and retain the number and type of talent required to close talent gaps
- Effectively deploy HR shared service delivery model in support of HR transformational goals and required levels of client support
- Manage Research and Modeling Promotion Committees to ensure the rigor and effectiveness of S&T promotion processes.
- Manages Research & Modeling internship and co-op programs to help build a strong talent pipeline to support future business and talent needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organization Development, labor relations or equivalent;
- Master’s degree in related area and/or HR certifications – a plus
- At least 15 years of HR experience (generalist/specialist combined)
- Prior experience leading and supervising other HR generalist positions
