What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lumber Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor position at Corps Partners?
As Maintenance Supervisor, you will plan and lead the daily activities of a team of millwrights, electricians, and mechanics in the areas of safety, quality, and reliability focused maintenance practices.
You will also be responsible for leading team meetings & trainings, identifying safety, environmental, quality & production issues, coordinating activities with production teams to maximize productivity and minimize cost, and reducing waste while proactively addressing reliability concerns.
Additionally, you will lead the team by proactively resolving employee issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures.
Key Functions
- Work with the team to proactively identify safety issues, and take measures to address concerns
- Actively supervise maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and quality work completion
- Utilize predictive and preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime
- Efficiently troubleshoot issues to meet volume and quality goals
- Implement training processes to build the team's technical skills
- Utilize computer-based programs to prioritize maintenance requests, maintenance inventory management, and maintenance resource delegation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 3 years' experience in a maintenance supervisory role in an industrial environment
- Proven ability to lead a team to be accountable and meet department metrics and goals
- Work-related experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives
- Knowledgeable in the areas of hydraulics, air systems, mechanical drives, mechanical components, installation methods, troubleshooting and repair techniques and methods, welding, and basic industrial electrical
- Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance methods
- Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching and development
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making skills
- Track record of consistently demonstrating leadership skills as well as positive influence and accomplishments in proactively influencing safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and people development
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs and internet skills

- Knowledge of Maintenance Planning software such as SAP
