JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary
This position assists management by performing duties related to employee services, recruitment, and jail operations. The Employee Services Administrator (ESA) performs duties related to employee hiring, recruitment, onboarding, personnel records, employee relations, employee payroll, regulatory reporting requirements, benefits administration and other areas as needed. Other duties assigned do require inmate contact and supervision.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Performs recruiting to ensure a candidate pool of potential new hires is interviewed and available.
Engages employees and resolves issues expediently.
Performs employee onboarding, ensuring candidates complete all necessary documents and new employee orientation. Ensures employees have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, to include the information in the employee handbook.
Plan and develop programs and training.
Oversee the maintenance and documentation of all certificates and pre-training records.
Performs auditing of staff payroll and time punches.
Resolves employee personnel inquires and shows employees how to submit changes on the system.
May process performance reviews, wage/salary changes, and disciplinary actions within approval authorization.
Routinely monitors facility operations, investigates, and recommends corrective action to the Warden to remedy deficiencies.
Facility Notary Services (staff and inmate)
Provides guidance to employees on company policies and procedures (e.g. Time Off with Pay, etc.)
May attend hearings as the facility representative.
May compile information to file workers’ compensation claims for employees and for the insurance carrier.
Assists other Administrators in ensuring facility tasks are completed.
Performs other duties as assigned, to include, but not limited to: Staff training, Corrections Officer relief, inmate supervision, commissary delivery, inmate recreation supervision, inmate escorts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and work experience in Human Resources (HR), or related work experience in Human Resources, Business Management or another applicable field.
Working knowledge and familiarity with HR concepts, practices, procedures and basic employment laws required.
Excellent organization, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills required.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times due to the handling of sensitive and confidential information.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Window, Word, Excel, etc. and other computer programs and software normally used in an office setting.
Correctional Experience preferred.
