Reports to: District Manager
Job Overview:
The Store Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the operations and fiscal health of the store.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to:
- Recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising and appraising staff
- Reviewing and approving employee time cards and vacation requests
- Conducting performance reviews
- Ability to handle disciplinary issues and take appropriate action
- Managing the overall operational and financial responsibilities
- Handling customer queries and complaints
- Overseeing pricing and stock control
- Maximizing profitability and meeting sales targets and budget goals
- Ensuring compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines and legislation
- Protecting employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment
- Ability to operate cash register, computer, facsimile, adding machine, and other basic office machines and equipment
- Ability to talk, hear, stand for prolonged periods of time, walk, reach with arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 40 degrees for up to 30 minutes
- Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency or hazmat situation
- Follows company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines
Preferred Qualifications/Experience/Education
- Ability to read, understand, and write the English language at the 12th Grade level
- High School or equivalent education
- Must pass drug and background screenings
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Up to 10% travel required
- Ability to work 45 hours a week, including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be highly organized and have the ability to multi-task
- Must possess strong leadership, management, team-building, and communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic economics, budgeting, employment laws and practices, and accounting principles
