Corteva Agriscience is seeking an experienced Research Scientist to conduct studies in RNA biology. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and oversee, conduct and interpret research in one or more of the interrelated areas - plant RNA/DNA viruses, gene silencing and PTGS mechanisms in plant or animal systems, mechanism of virus infection, and gene editing mechanisms, for product development applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design, conduct, interpret and report results for discovery research in RNA/DNA viruses and/or RNA metabolism – to advance our trait development pipelines.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior scientific staff.
• Collaborate with scientists across a spectrum of biotechnology and bioinformatics specialties.
• Communicate findings to business and scientific audiences, through both oral presentations and written technical reports and manuscripts.
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain operational excellence through quality management and good housekeeping.

Qualifications

Desired Skills:

• Evidence of strong and creative research and publication record in RNA metabolism, preferably in .one or more of the interrelated areas - plant RNA/DNA viruses, gene silencing and PTGS mechanisms in plant or animal systems, mechanism of virus infection, and gene editing mechanisms
• Demonstrated strength in lab techniques and computational manipulation of data.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in cross-disciplinary teams.
