Job Summary

Coshocton County Head Start, Inc., a non-profit agency, is seeking a Family Advocate to work with children and families to identify the family’s goals, strengths, and secure necessary services in a social services capacity.

Responsibilities and Duties

Applicant will assist families in completing original enrollment applications for their child, schedule and/or document appointments for medical, dental, and disability screenings, evaluations, and complete follow-ups as needed. Monitor classroom absences, attend and assist with parent committee meetings within their assigned caseload; encourage family participation. Conduct home visits or center visit or alternate location as desired by family.

Candidates must be able to travel and work positively with children and families of diverse backgrounds. Valid drivers license is required for travel. Attend workshops, trainings, conferences and meetings as necessary to perform successfully in the job duties. Assume any and all other duties as necessary for the successful implementation of the program. Ability to maintain client confidentiality.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience is a plus. Must have a Degree in human or social services or related field required.

Must pass criminal background check and urinalysis drug screen.

A pre-employment physical, TB screening, and COVID 19 Vaccination is required.

Salary is based on education credential.

Additional insurances are available at a group rate at a cost to the employee.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
