Pharmacy Technician

We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician that will assist pharmacist in filling and dispensing prescriptions. Position also entails ordering and stocking drugs, supplies and over-the-counter merchandize. Updates patient records and inventory, processes invoices and makes accounting entries using computerized system. You must possess excellent communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers. Full time availability Mon-Sat 10am-7pm.

Responsibilities

• Assists Pharmacist in updating patient profile and entering prescription information into the computer to extent allowable by State Law. Preserves patient confidentiality. Answers phones and provides prompt and courteous member service including answering phones at pharmacy windows, directing members to production location.
• Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions by brining stock bottles, counting, pouring, re stocking and labeling, and pricing prescriptions under direct Pharmacist's supervision. Prepares third party insurance claims, to the extent allowable by State Law.
• Orders, receives, tags and stocks prescription drugs and supplies. Follows product storage procedures and standards.
• Cleans department by sweeping, mopping, and spraying, wiping and dusting. Empties trash and operates trash compactor and cardboard baler. Follows security and safety procedures.
• Assists customer at counter, receives written prescriptions for Pharmacist, and retrieves filled prescriptions. Rings up orders. Receives payment, makes change, processes checks and credit/debit charges.
• Orders, receives, tags, and stocks accounting entries.
• Ensures proper clean up, disposal and returns of hazardous materials.

Skills

• Proven experience as pharmacy technician
• Experience with an online prescription system is a plus
• Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement
• Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Reliable with a keen eye for detail
• Successful completion of a pharmacy technician program
• Certified Pharmacy technician is an asset
• High school Diploma or GED required

Pay: $21.50 per hour
