Ecommerce Production Operations Team works closely with our business and IT partners to drive the most effective response, recovery, and remediation to ensure the Costco website is highly available, scalable, and secure to meet the current and future needs of our members and our eCommerce business units. This team is responsible for supporting a website, which is highly visible and critical to the success of our eCommerce platform to meet current and future sales growth expectations. 

This position performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, and implementation of applications or programs supporting the highly visible eCommerce business processes and operations, and/or network-based (cloud) product systems. Infrastructure Analysts evaluate, install, acquire, modify, and support operating systems, database software or utilities software. Infrastructure Analysts plan, conduct, and direct the investigation of business problems with automated systems solutions, and contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of systems or architecture used throughout the IT solution set.

ROLE

• Designs, plans, installs, configures, tests, and maintains the eCommerce B2C and B2B production environments to ensure that applications, configurations, integrations are available and perform as expected.
• Plans, coordinates, and performs the installation of application, operating system, data, and integration level changes into the eCommerce production environments.
• Provides operational support for Websphere Commerce, Websphere Application Server, and IHS servers.
• Develops a comprehensive understanding of the applications and infrastructure within the eCommerce environment and how they impact member experience, site performance, stability, and quality.
• Manages resolution and root cause of incidents and problems through effective collaboration, communication, and follow up with management, IT teams, and vendors.
• Manages growth and performance of the systems.
• Creates and runs reports relating to performance and capacity planning.
• Monitors our eCommerce dashboards; Splunk, Dynatrace, mPulse for system health and performance.
• Coordinates with our Services Management, Sustained Engineering, development product, and pod teams, as well as our vendors, to follow up and remediate production issues repair to meet Costco’s service levels as defined.
• Develops, maintains, and publishes system configuration documentation including inventory, process, configuration, and design documents.
• Follows Enterprise standards for Security and Best Practices.

REQUIRED

• 3 years’ experience provisioning and supporting complex pre-production or production environments using Websphere Commerce.
• 3 years’ experience IBM WAS (WebSphere Application Server), IHS (IBM HTTP Server) or equivalent.
• 3 years’ experience Unix and/or Linux, preferably AIX or Red Hat.
• Experience with workflow automation and orchestration.
• Innovative, creative, and extremely responsive with a strong sense of urgency.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Responsible, conscientious, and possess a passion for excellence.
• Experience with scripting frameworks and languages such as Kornshell, Python, Bash, and Powershell.
• Demonstrated ability to perform systems analysis on high availability pre-production environments within an enterprise setting.
• Broad technical knowledge of enterprise compute platforms, such AIX as well as cloud container technologies.
• Experience in analyzing system performance data for performance characteristics.
• Ability to collaborate with architecture, database, and application teams regarding all pre-production environments.
• Ability to explain complex solutions to an audience with a wide variety of technical skills and background.
• Ability to guide and mentor others through the design, build, and implementation phases of system deployments.
• Detail-oriented and possess strong problem solving skills, with the ability to analyze a situation for potential future problems.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with people at all management levels.
• Works well under pressure and in a crisis situation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong proven leadership/team building and personnel development skills.
• Scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of the business, 24x7x365 operations - evening, weekend, holiday and on-call required on a rotational basis.

Recommended

• Exposure to middleware technologies using MQ Messaging, Message Broker or equivalent.
• Configuration/Administrator level knowledge using Sterling Order Management components, API's, related interfaces.
• Ability to collaborate with other technical experts and develop solution and functional design documents to support development of final solutions.
• General understanding of:
  • Networking and troubleshooting networking issues.
  • Network technologies such as BigIP, DHCP and DNS.
  • Active Directory (AD).
  • Performance and functional testing environments.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Tivoli, and Dynatrace.
