SUMMARY
The Store Director is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of a supermarket, ensuring efficient and profitable business performance. The Store Director will lead a team of department managers and staff, ensuring that all store activities align with company policies, procedures, and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, sales, and customer service.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales, increase profitability, and meet performance targets.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of department managers and store staff, fostering a positive work environment.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage store budgets, expenses, and financial reports, ensuring all financial targets are met.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of products, negotiate pricing, and manage stock levels.
- Handle customer complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Plan and execute promotional events and marketing initiatives to drive traffic and sales.
- Ensure store layout, merchandising, and product displays are aligned with company guidelines and optimize the customer shopping experience.

- Training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Appraising performance; rewarding and coaching Associates.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- One to three months related experience and/or training;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to work with Supermarket math concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, distribution, penetration, gross profit, and Sales Per Associate Hour.
