What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiscal Analyst position at County of Passaic?
- Responsible for analyzing expenditures of programs and grants to ascertain that contractual commitments or legal requirements governing them are being carried out properly.
- Assist and advises program administrators on fiscal problems that may arise in carrying out provisions of various funding contracts and in preparing required financial reports.
- Reviews funding contracts and grants to determine various ways of dispersing funds within the stipulated guidelines.
- Supervises the maintenance of pertinent financial records.
- Audits program and grant financial records to ascertain whether or not proper use has been made of expended funds and ensures they are ready for review by the funding agency.
- Assists in preparation of program budgets.
- Prepares bimonthly payroll documents.
- Prepares monthly financial reports and statements on the review of various programs.
- Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
- Ability to provide assignments to technical and other employees and to supervise the performance of their work.
- Ability to prepare statistical and other studies and reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
- Ability to supervise the establishment and maintenance of cost ledgers, and other records.
- Ability to comprehend and utilize complex state and federal budget, policies, and procedures.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's
degree.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in the collection, compilation, analysis, and presentation of data required to provide an accurate account of administrative and operating costs to management in a private business or government agency.
Note: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional experience as indicated on a year for year basis. A Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or Finance may be substituted for the required experience.
License: Valid New Jersey Driver's License required for the duties of the position.
