The Bistro Manager will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coaching and directing the food and beverage associates to exceed guest expectations while managing costs and labor expenses. The Food and Beverage Manager ensures the highest standards are maintained throughout food service operations, models excellent guest service and works side-by-side with staff during peak time periods.
Major Duties:
- Communicates with the kitchen to ensure proper food purchases and preparations.
- Perform frequent checks to ensure consistent high quality of preparation and service.
- Order supplies to replenish merchandise on hand.
- Work with other management personnel to plan marketing, advertising, and any special restaurant functions.
- Problem solves any guest issues and make improvements to enhance service delivery.
- Supervise employees engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing a daily record of transactions for accounting, or perform work of subordinates, as needed.
- Plan and prepare work schedules and assign employees to specific duties.
- Direct hiring, training, and scheduling of restaurant personnel.
- Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
- Takes responsibility for ordering and maintaining controls of the beer, wine and liquor inventory.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.
- Review hotel forecast and Banquet Event Orders to schedule based on business needs.
- Complies with State laws for serving Alcoholic Beverages
- Ensure compliance of employees with established security, sales, and record-keeping procedures and practices
Qualifications
- Previous F&B supervisory experience
- Previous hotel experience a plus
- Alcohol certification, food handlers certification or ability to obtain certifications
