Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our team at Courtyard by Marriott - Generation Park, TX. This is a full-time position. The job is located in Houston, Texas and will require candidates to have a strong background in food and beverage management. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations including the hotel restaurant, bar, banquet functions, and room service. Reporting to the General Manager, the Food and Beverage Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction and profitability in the department.
Compensation & Benefits:
The Food and Beverage Supervisor will receive a competitive hourly rate with Banquet Event compensation, in biweekly pay periods. In addition to competitive pay, the role also offers opportunities for career advancement within Marriott International, as well as generous hotel and travel discounts.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel's food and beverage department
- Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and improve profitability of the department
- Monitor and control food and beverage costs
- Hire, train, and supervise all food and beverage staff, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff
- Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and service are maintained at all times
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop and implement promotional and marketing strategies to attract guests to the hotel restaurant and bar
- Plan and execute banquet functions, ensuring excellent customer service and attention to detail
- Monitor guest satisfaction and handle any guest complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and track inventory and purchasing for the department
- Maintain compliance with all food safety standards and regulations
- Prepare and manage the department budget, including forecasting and cost analysis
- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a hotel environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Knowledge of food and beverage industry trends, products, and techniques
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS systems
