What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Security Analyst position at CoVantage Credit Union?

CoVantage Credit Union, a $3 billion financial institution with 22 locations and growing, is seeking an Information Security Analyst. This individual will be a key player in the Information Security Team, having a role in both daily security operations as well as securing new solutions and providing risk assurance to the organization.

Job Duties

  • Assists with proactive information security consulting to the business technology teams as directed by the Information Security Officer
  • Applies gained knowledge of network security principles and strategies to the identification and resolution of network and security issues
  • Support end users' requests for technical assistance and analyze requests for enhanced functionality including response to Help Desk requests
  • Assist with the testing of information security systems and business continuity plans to validate policies and plans
  • Conducts regular security monitoring and reporting to ensure adequate security defenses, systems and settings are in place to protect against intrusion, and destruction or misuse of credit union information
  • Participates in administering various security solutions

This position requires at least a 6-month training period. After the training period, this position has the potential to work from any CoVantage location which has office space available.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity or related field or 6 months of professional experience in information security or network administration
  • Security , GIAC certifications or other evidence of cybersecurity education is desirable
  • Working knowledge of monitoring and securing Information Technology application, server, and networking environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. This role will be visible in the organization and must be able to communicate with all levels within the organization, aiding and training to fellow teammates
