Covenant Staffing Services offers this opportunity to qualified, skilled, flexible, self-motivated nurses. We are Covenant Health's internal system float pool and are provided premium compensation for meeting the needs of the system for supplemental staffing due to ; census surge, FMLA, absences , new initiatives , etc. This team serves all the Covenant acute care facilities.

Nurses seeking employment with CSS must require minimal clinical orientation. Must be highly skilled, energetic and adapt easily to different settings and environments within Covenant Facilities while providing excellent quality care to a variety of patient populations. Must have the ability to work well as a team and work independently when needed without supervision. Current active TN RN license, BLS required, ACLS, PALS preferred. 2 years of nursing experience required with one year recent hospital experience.

 

Must have the ability to float to different hospitals, different nursing units, and highly skilled and excellent customer service skills.

Position Summary:

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Practices in accordance with evidenced-based nursing standards and practices. Serve as a role model to others; demonstrates clinical skills in caring for moderately complex patients.

Responsibilities

  • Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care.
  • Assess learning needs of patient and family.
  • Develops and initiates plan of care, involving patient and family.
  • Recommends evidence based bundles, protocols and procedural interventions to promote patient safety and reduction of harm events.
  • Evaluates plan of care.
  • Resolves problems regarding moderately complex patient/management/physician issues without supervision.
  • Responsible for participation in in-service programs so as to maintain his/her level of professional competence.
  • Demonstrates willingness to coach new employees/students as directed or requested by facility. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor.
  • Demonstrates competence in performing skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
  • Serves as a resource to peers and supervises non-licensed care givers. Takes initiative to intervene to improve patient care and safety as needed.
  • Adheres to Covenant’s Standards of Behavior. Promotes teamwork, intervention, process improvement, change management and fiscal stewardship.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

 

Minimum Experience: Minimum one (1) years of professional experience. Specialty areas require 2 years of professional experience.

                                                                                      

Licensure Requirement: Valid Tennessee license. Current BLS, Yearly infection control, fire safety required in services are required. ACLS preferred

 

Continuing Education: As required to maintain BLS, and Covenant education requirements.
