Covenant Physician Partners is hiring a Staff Accountant II at our corporate headquarters located in Downtown Nashville, TN.
About the Opportunity
Staff II reports to the Manager, Corporate Accounting and is responsible for the company’s corporate ledgers and specialized accounting functions, including fixed assets, lease accounting, payroll allocations and accruals and other areas as assigned. Additional responsibility will include timely and accurate financial statements, analysis and reporting to support the company objectives, and special projects. This position is responsible for accounts and assignments of increased complexity compared to the Staff I position.
SHIFT: This is a hybrid position with 3-days in office in Nashville and 2-days work from home.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Book journal entries and analyze ledgers for corporate related ledgers and departments.
- Make recommendations to the Manager, Corporate Accounting regarding financial and corporate business processes.
- Specialized, company-wide accounting functions, reporting, and journals, including:
- Payroll and Insurance allocations and accruals.
- Fixed Asset accounting.
- Capitalized Expenditures.
- Lease Accounting.
- Other functions as developed and assigned.
- Assist external auditors with schedule preparation and respond to audit questions.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis of corporate revenues, expenses, vendors, and cash flow.
- Prepare reconciliations of corporate balance sheet accounts and performance of corporate controls.
- Deliver training and/or educate other accounting and operations personnel regarding corporate accounting processes.
- Other duties/tasks/projects as assigned.
About the Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of Accounting experience with corporate ledgers and fixed assets in a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, taxes, and managerial principles, including fixed asset accounting, leases, and corporate allocations.
- Highly developed communications and analysis skills are essential.
