Covia is looking for a Maintenance Manager who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at our Tunnel City, WI. facility. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the safe definition, planning and completion of process related maintenance activities. Working closely with process operations, the Maintenance Manager will provide guidance to the maintenance supervisors, coordinate with contractors, plant and mine operations and the technical services group to achieve planned goals, mechanical/electrical availability and production targets.
The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to working safely as an advocate and leader of a safe work culture for all employees
- Responsible for maximizing the mechanical and electrical availability of all plant equipment via strategies for improving maintenance performance, including training, PM development, maintenance and development of computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Lead development of an overall asset management program including incorporation of predictive technologies, maintenance data, and work history
- Provide leadership to prioritize work assignments to maximize employee productivity and optimize equipment utilization
- Lead a team of mutli-disciplinary supervisors and hourly workforce to continuously improve performance.
- Ensure employees are properly trained in areas of maintenance
- Conduct field audits to determine to measure performance of the team
- In conjunction with the Operations Manager, set priority of resources and work schedules to achieve the production plans
- Interface with supply chain for the purchase of spares, repairs and warranty issues
- Work with outside vendors to provide technical assistance, resource and training support to department.
- Build effective working relationships with all departments through participation at meetings and promoting daily, cooperative interaction
- Provide leadership by administering fair and consistent personnel policy
- Provide leadership in the effective implementation and support of a work order-based, preventive maintenance program
- Provide input for formulating and defining policy at the plant and mine level
- Direct, monitor and coach subordinates, observing their effectiveness and subsequently conducting performance reviews
- Review reports and work plans; perform spot inspections of equipment
- Provide technical assistance for failure analysis on related components in conjunction with equipment manufacturers

The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess 5 years of maintenance experience and a bachelor's degree, or 10 years of experience in maintenance in lieu of a bachelor's degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Engineering degree strongly preferred (electrical, mechanical, industrial, mining, electronic or automation fields).
- 2 years of experience supervising maintenance team or other related front line supervisory experience required.
- Heavy industrial experience required.
