Covia is looking for an immediate Bag Plant Operator for our Best Sand plant in Chardon, OH.
The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:
- Perform all duties in a safe manner, following all safety regulations and safe work practices and assuring all equipment has been inspected and is in a safe working condition
- Perform duties and responsibilities as defined in applicable Procedures and Work Instructions
- Perform daily safety checks on Bag Plant equipment
- Perform routine maintenance on Bag Plant equipment
- Keep the Bag Plant area clean and in safe working order
- Perform regular testing according to posted procedures
- Assist other plant areas as requested
- Load trucks with bagged products
- Document loading activities
- Haul sand from storage bins as appropriate
The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Ability to work with normal supervision
- Communication skills
- Operating knowledge of the Bag Plant
- Problem solving and trouble shooting skills
- Basic mechanical skills
- Basic knowledge of testing procedures
