Provide direct care to residents of the Independent and Assisted Living in accordance with standards of practice and regulatory requirements of the Department of Social Service
Responsibilities
- The Caregiver Lead ensures quality nursing and wellness care to all residents of Independent and Assisted living.
- Assists residents in the activities of daily living and medications according to individual care plans
- Responsible for the storage and destruction of medications in compliance with RCFE regulations
- Maintains supplies in Assisted Living, both for the unit and residents
- The Caregiver Lead maintains safe resident living areas by changing and making beds, cleaning of bedside equipment, cleaning laundry and removal of clutter.
- Complies with all HIPAA standards of practice and acts as a mandatory reporter for suspected abuse situations
- Reports any physical or behavioral changes in the resident to DOS or charge nurse, and reports any medication errors to DOS or SNF charge nurse
- The Caregiver Lead reports all accidents and unusual occurrences immediately to DOS or charge nurse, observes and reports any needed repairs or service for building or equipment, and performs any other duties as assigned.

- Experience using MS Office, databases and the internet
- Ability to read, speak well and be understood in the English language

Education and Qualifications
- Geriatric experience or current California CNA certification
- Current BLS or CPR certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 6 months experience as a CNA in acute or geriatric care setting preferred
- Bilingual ability preferred
