Cox Automotive is currently looking for an Event Manager to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia.
Your Role:
The Event Manager works directly with the Cox Automotive Director of Events to oversee the planning, coordination, marketing, and implementation of company and client meetings and events. In addition, this role will partner with the Cox Enterprise Events team for various events throughout the year. This role will also support the execution and planning of select company sponsored charitable events.
This role requires strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, accountability, and the ability to easily adapt to any given circumstance.
This is a high-profile position and works supporting many different levels within the company, including executives and top clients. Please note that travel is 40-50% and night and evening work is required.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning and project managing large-scale internal programs, events, conferences, and meetings for employees to build relationships, gain education and promote company culture.
- Responsible for internal and external meetings and events to ensure exceptional quality experience is provided. Consult with key stakeholders to develop overall program to support the key objective and exceed stakeholder and attendee expectations.
- Provide direction and ideas for meeting development for company and client events to ensure continuity and concise messaging across brands. Assess program effectiveness and potential program and objective changes.
- Partner with internal brand and creative resources in the development of relevant communications and branding materials (e.g., brochures, invitations, programs, signage, registration websites and other on-line information, video, and photography) for all audiences.
- Develop and maintain budgets based on key stakeholder approval and provide strategic forecasting and monitoring of all expenditures to fully leverage event potential.
- Partner with Corporate Procurement to negotiate contracts and agreements with hotels, conference centers, convention centers and ground transportation, to ensure all institutional requirements are met and cost savings realized wherever possible.
- Maintain strong internal and external communications with all event stakeholders and assess the day-to-day planning to ensure event is progressing as expected and to make changes to improve result as needed.
- Contribute to group and maintain a positive helpful attitude toward work, management, and other team members.
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and all team members to establish trust for the individual and team.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in related discipline and 5 years of event management and ownership experience OR an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven demonstration of increasing responsibility and successful execution of mission-driven events.
- Strong collaboration skills and innovative programming.
- Extensive knowledge of and interface with Cvent software, especially building out registration sites.
- Experience with corporate audiences.
- Experience negotiating, building relationships and working with vendors.
- Positive outlook, enthusiasm, self-motivated and high energy.
- Strong leadership, influence and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong client services approach.
