Description:
The Senior Social Media Producer is responsible for daily programming across AJC's Black Culture social platforms, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Instagram.
The ideal candidate is creative and collaborative, is always on the hunt for what's next in social media and has an above average presence on social media platforms. This person will be responsible for the overall health of our current social media platforms and always on the lookout for the next emerging social media platform. The focus will be on content, revenue and metrics and this person will be able to provide goals against each focus.
For this position, one must be a champion of the team's best content and help with the creation of dynamic digital content. The producer should have a demonstrated, professional ability to build a connection with social media users. It's also important to employ best practices and drive adoption of social media and other content promotion throughout the organization.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Highlight our highest-value content.
- Write teases and post content to various AJC Black Culture accounts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and emerging platforms.
- Create original content, such as Instagram/TikTok Stories and voiced posts.
- Coach AJC Black Culture writers on how to create original content for social media platforms
- Help create and deliver the voice of AJC Black Culture on social media by developing a holistic CONTENT strategy including but not limited to:
- daily production schedule across each platform
- determine what content is pushed socially
- set strategy of new ways to promote our content such as clips from programs, etc
- Monitor and adjust plans according to social media METRICS including but not limited to:
- work with analytics team to develop/update social media dashboard (audience, revenue, quantity and quality)
- growth targets for each platform
- develop plan to achieve growth targets
- engagement metrics (likes, shares, comments)
- Demonstrate superior writing skills to create clean, clear copy with appropriate voice and tone.
- Manage paid promotion of AJC Black Culture content across various social media platforms
- Respond to readers' questions and feedback.
- Work to increase audience engagement.
- Assist writers with best social media practices.
- Provide information for weekly and monthly social media metrics reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skillset Needed:
- Technology orientation, including platforms and systems
- Data analysis and synthesis from a variety of sources.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage and deliver results in a matrix organization
- Highly developed attention to detail
- Creative when new solutions are required
- High interest in the digital content marketplace and understanding of the competitive landscape in which we operate.
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to learn and apply new concepts and tools quickly.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience (Master's and 2 years or Ph.D. and 1 or more years or 8 years without a formal degree)
- At least 2 or 3 years of experience presenting news content on social media platforms in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge about the most recent trends in social media and digital readership.
- Strong news judgment preferred.
- Familiarity and experience in using social audience metrics to drive decisions.
- Understanding of journalism standards and media ethics.
- Reliable internet service for remote work environment required.
- Ability to work weekend and unusual hours as dictated by breaking news events.
- Understanding of news judgement and journalism ethics
Preferred Experience in one or more of the following:
- Newspapers, magazines, media, technology, or related field
- Social, interactive, or digital media
- Awareness of Black Culture news, stories and trends
