Job Summary

- Reporting to the Director of Coding/CDI/UR (facility services), the Manager of Coding HIM is responsible for the daily operations for both the acute services within CoxHealth. This is outpatient for all hospitals and clinics. The manager will work directly with the coding supervisors, and be a point of contact for questions from different areas. This includes managing relationships and facilitating processes and questions for the physicians and other areas our department supports. It is expected to work closely with Coding Director and support in department strategy, mentorship, tactics and improvement efforts.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree OR 8 years related experience in lieu of degree.

Required: At least 2 years’ leadership in Coding/HIM or related experience.

Skills

Must be able to work effectively with staff, public and external agencies

Medical Terminology
-
Proficient in CPT/HCPCS coding, ICD, Medicare guidelines, medical terminology and claims processing.

Must have the ability to take initiative and to exercise good judgement and decision- making

Licensure/Certification/Registration
