Product Developer - Soft Goods

In this role, the Product Developer will focus on our soft goods line and work with bed and bath products. This role will bring new designs to life by leading the sourcing, sampling, costing, and overall development process with manufacturing partners, seeking opportunities to streamline workflows. You'll partner closely with our Product team to innovate on and expand our sourcing network to ensure we offer our customers the best possible quality, design, and ultimately value.

Responsibilities:

• Develop product brand briefs, product requirements, and specifications.
• Lead process improvement identification and implementation within the product development process, including sending CADs, detailed design instructions, trim direction, fit direction, and fabric information, and T&A calendar.
• Oversee all communication with factories regarding the daily execution of products from design cards/tech packs/BOM to the start of production.
• Oversee all sample corrections and adjustments in a timely manner.
• Manage and negotiate costing and delivery dates.
• Partner with design throughout design prototype development to ensure aesthetic and functional execution.
• Liaise with manufacturers on material management.
• Document all sampling in the development process including production sign-off samples. Maintain detailed records of the production sample library.
• Communicate regularly with Data Analyst to ensure PO is sent in a timely manner.
• Stay ahead of innovations and new product concepts related to our product categories to identify trends and opportunities to grow.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in a related field; or equivalent experience required.
• 3-5 years of product development experience. Prior experience in soft goods is preferred.
• Understanding of design and development process from inception through final adoption.
• Effective communicator with internal and external parties must have the ability to work in/with cross-functional teams.
• Passion for premium, functional products and the desire to forge a path as a market leader in new product concepts.
• Knowledge of home product sourcing and production business.
• DTC experience is a plus!
• Able to conduct after-hours virtual meetings with vendors.
• Able to travel domestically and internationally - up to 25%.
