Scheduled Hours 20 Position Summary The City of St. Louis is contracting with the Institute for Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis to conduct an external evaluation of Cure Violence in St. Louis. As a part of the evaluation, focus groups and interviews will be conducted with the goal of identifying programmatic strengths and barriers to implementation. The Qualitative Researcher will work with the Cure Violence evaluation team to conduct focus groups and interviews with Cure Violence staff and other key stakeholders. Job Description Ability to travel to various on- and off-campus locations. Ability to travel to Cure Violence sites within the City of St. Louis to gather data as a part of focus groups and interviews. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Work with the evaluation team to develop a semi-structured protocol for interviews and focus groups. Lead the facilitation of focus groups and interviews with Cure Violence staff and other identified key stakeholders at multiple sites. Focus groups/interviews may be held virtually and/or in person. Oversee qualitative data collection. Conduct qualitative data analysis of focus group and interview findings. Assist with dissemination of aggregate focus group and interview findings, including contributing to reports, manuscripts, and presentations. Attend relevant meetings, including weekly meetings with the evaluation team, monthly meetings with staff of the City of St. Louis, and periodic meetings with Cure Violence staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Experience with the Cure Violence target population. Mastery of NVivo or other qualitative software to conduct analysis. Strong client-facing experience with excellent verbal communication skills. Knowledge of qualitative public health research and evaluation concepts. Direct qualitative collection experience, including specific familiarity with in-depth interviewing and conducting focus groups. Experience with qualitative data cleaning, coding, analysis, and reporting. Experience with qualitative data analysis software. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field. Minimum of two years of research/field experience.
