Job Title: Assistant Superintendent

Reports To: Superintendent/Sr. Superintendent
SUMMARY:
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible assisting Senior Superintendents or Superintendents and Project Manager in all field related activity associated with the successful completion of assigned projects such as jobsite safety, cost, quality, communication with the architects and consultants, as well as the project schedule. They also work closely with management staff regarding all aspects of the project. The Assistant Superintendent maintains positive relationships with Clients, Architects, Consultants and Subcontractors while working on field and constructability issues. Daily activities are conducted to promote the company's vision, mission and core values.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Foreman, or equivalent role, in the construction industry.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must hold a safety-first mindset with proven experience with safety programs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or related field, preferred.
- Must have a solid understanding of the construction industry, job site safety requirements, planning and scheduling, building trades, sequence of work and relevant technologies.
- Must be able to read plans and specifications.
- Familiar with technology including MS Office and Outlook.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Experience working independently and as a part of a dynamic team.
FLSA CLASSIFICATION AND HOURS:
- Exempt Level Position – This is a 40 hour a week, full-time position. Days and hours of work are at minimum Monday through Friday and you can expect to work normal business hours from 8AM to 5PM. Specific jobs may require hours to report in to work to change based on project needs. This could mean you could report in to work earlier or you may have to stay later. Changes in work hours will be at sole discretion of direct supervisor. Position is based on completion of work, not hours worked. Some occasional weekend and after-hours work are required pending demands of the job and projects assigned.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- 10% of time with occasional travel required to job sites and to other CPPI satellite offices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in developing the project schedule, subcontracts/purchase orders and project responsibilities listing.
- Work with Project Manager, Superintendent, and Project Team to understand project plans, submittals, blue prints, and construction codes as affected by local and state ordinances.
- Ability to assist in all aspects of the project from demo to finish.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Orders materials and schedules inspections.
- Develops and maintains positive and productive relationships with owners, customers, sub-contractors, suppliers, Project Team and employees.
- Provides administrative support for the Project Superintendent and leadership to project staff.
- Coordinates, cooperates and communicates with the Project Managers, Field Personnel and Subcontractors.
- Assists with completing and submitting schedule updates.
- Arranges and secures permits with local cities as needed.
- Assists in analyzing job costs and in the maintenance and generation of accurate reporting while assisting in analyzing of labor costs.
- Tracks, reviews and processes change order requests.
- Manages processing and tracking of monthly owner payments as needed.
- Implements and trains as needed on all applicable safety processes and procedures.
- Manages preparation / execution of project closeout processes.
FUNCTIONAL TECHNICAL SKILLS
1. TRADE KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Performs other functions as requested of them
2. SCHEDULE MASTERY – DEVELOPMENT & ENFORCEMENT
- Assists in planning and coordinating daily work activity, including sequencing and interaction of trades
- Assists in monitoring and maintaining the construction schedule and takes corrective action as required
- Assists in monitoring subcontractor performance and enforcing compliance or taking corrective actions
- Assists in material procurement and delivery in a timely manner
- Assists with progress meetings with the trades
3. RISK MANAGEMENT
- Assists in creating, implementing, and monitoring the site logistics and management plan
- Assists in maintaining complete and organized records at the site
- Assists with tool inventory and reporting
- Understand and utilize the Company Policy and Procedures Manual and Best Practices Guidelines including Master Forms Library
- Participate in ongoing training efforts
4. PROFESSIONALISM WITH CLIENTS AND SUBCONTRACTORS
- Conducts themselves confidently and professionally in all interactions
- Ensure client needs are exceeded throughout the course of delivery
5. QUALITY CONTROL – IMPLEMENTATION & ENFORCEMENT
- Assists with jobsite quality control
- Assists with all OSHA jobsite requirements
- Assists with punch list creation, distributing and completing in a timely manner
6. SAFETY
- Assists with project safety, including site separation and jobsite activity
- Ensure workplace safety. Report issues to project team immediately
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA jobsite requirements
