Job Duties
Coordinate and manage existing parts department staff (6 direct reports).
Sources and orders parts to maintain inventory levels
Establishes mins and maxes for inventory levels based on usage.
Orders parts as needed by shop mechanics, field mechanics, fabrication technicians, and retail parts customers.
Communicates with customers by phone or in person, reinforcing their confidence and encouraging repeat business
Receives, prices and stocks parts inventory, maintaining database accordingly
Prepares for and participates in year end inventory
Coordinates parts returns
Implements new strategies, systems and/or procedures for improved operations
Maintains reporting systems effectively, accurately and timely
Establishes procedures to retain and acquire new customers through sales calls by phone or in person.
Reconcile daily parts invoices
Assign parts as requested by shop personnel
Job Requirements:
- Five years experience in a parts position is required
- Strong leadership skills
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to follow directions
- Must be able to work basic computer functions
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Strong understanding of parts required.
- Must be familiar with heavy truck and construction equipment.
- Must posses strong independent decision making skills.
- Must be able to maintain a safe, reasonably clean and organized work environment
