Job Description- Dietary Cook
Cranford Park Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Dietary Team. As a Cook you will oversee and ensure effective food preparation and service during your shift.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be Covid-19 Vaccine
- Certification in healthcare cooking (ServSafe or Sodexo)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in large-scale cooking
- Strong knowledge of large scale & therapeutic food prep
- Must be able to do some physical work
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Excellent customer service & communication skills
- Will manage Kitchen in absence of food service director
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares food items and serves food to residents within scheduled time frame.
- Follows menu cycle, noting changes or substitutions made on proper form.
- Cleans and maintains a neat, safe working environment including the kitchen and food service areas.
- Complies with state sanitation codes.
- Maintains inventory control, places food order, verifies that items are received appropriately and restocks kitchen shelves appropriately.
- Directs food service and dining service functions.
- Maintains the quantity of food prepared and samples the food to ensure the quality of the food served to the residents.
- Ensures that resident food preferences are known and followed.
- Maintains meal service records as required.
- Reports problems, concerns, issues observed with food service and communicates them appropriately to Food Service Director
- Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates with appropriate team members.
- Records resident information, as required.
- Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
- Adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, worker safety and other emergency procedures.
- Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independent, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
- Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Knowledge of specialty diets and textures.
