What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Spa & Fitness position at Crescent Hotels & Resorts?

Crescent Hotels and Resorts is seeking an experienced individual to join our team at the Colonial Williamsburg Resort as the Assistant Director of Spa. Primary duties, in partnership with the Director of Spa, is to provide leadership, direction and supervision of the staff in the daily operations of the Spa including Special Events and Retail.
Here is what the position requires:
- Work alongside the Spa Director in helping develop the annual operating budget, review financial results, and report progress to the Spa Director on a weekly basis.
- Review and approve any purchase orders.
- Assist the Spa Director in reviewing all new candidates for hire, to include performing interviews, and making recommendations for the best candidates for the position (s).
- Create staffing models, review work schedules, and review all personnel decisions with the Spa Director prior to any action being administered.
- Use financial plans for spotting trends, measuring productivity and monitoring progress.
- Control ongoing service and product margin analysis to ensure profitability.
- Implement opportunities for managing operational costs and boosting the bottom line.
- Develop procedures for accurate inventory control and monitoring.
- Implement full spa product and service purchasing standards and ensure compliance.
- Administer staff and client scheduling for maximum revenue generation and profitability.
- Assist in developing and maintaining gracious and efficient front desk procedures.
- Create ongoing in-house promotions and activities to stimulate sales, staff, and customers.
- Create an exercise program for members to include Aerobic, Yoga, Pilates, and strength training.
- Guide business decisions by staying on top of Spa industry trends.
- Help maintain a strong menu of services and products with both exceptional artistic and aesthetic value.
- Consistently develop and grow retail sales through training, tools, and monitoring.
- Ensure the Spa is always staged for maximum buyer impact.
- Anticipate, identify, and ensure customer needs are being met in the best possible way.
- Develop and deliver credible, competitive, value-plus service to the customer.
Employment Standards:
- A High-School diploma or equivalent is required.
- A four-year (4) college degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- CPR certified or the willingness to become CPR certified within the first 30-days of employment.
- A professional certificate in spa or fitness is preferred.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze, forecast, and make judgements to ensure proper payroll and production control.
- Must have a working understanding of spa and fitness operations.
- Must be computer literate and proficient with Windows and all Microsoft Office applications.
- Able to effectively communicate with people at all levels.
- Maintain proper associate uniform standards and footwear which is slip resistant, enclosed toe and heel.
