Job Description Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and modifying drawings per specifications and customer requirements. Prepare/maintain accurate standard drawings and templates. Work closely with Division Engineer, Sales, Project Management, Production and Quality Control to ensure the product is built according to the latest part or shop drawings. Other responsibilities will include:
Create 2D precast shop structural drawings utilizing the latest AutoCAD software. Including structural reinforcing layouts, and basic 3D extruded models.- Create 2D precast shop mechanical drawings. Including pump and ductile iron flanged piping/valve layouts, and a variety of associated mechanical equipment details.
- Create special manufacturing drawings for immediate production
- Adhere to customer (internal and external) volumes, timelines and expectations
- Prepare product assembly or shop drawings for existing/new products as needed for sales staff and special drawings for plant projects as needed
- Work with Quality Control Inspector to learn requirements of process control, inspection, and testing in production
- Update/maintain digital database (i.e. project and engineering documents)
- Project manager duties will be assigned as the candidate progresses with the product and company processes, building to a Project Management (primary) position.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements/Skills
Proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD, 2017 or newer preferred- Must possess the ability to read and interpret sketches
- Ability to review and understand contract drawings and specifications
- Ability to read construction and civil & mechanical plans
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Basic mathematical skills
- Self-starter, motivated with ability to start and finish a project on time
- Must be able to handle several projects at once and prioritize to meet customer requirements in a dynamic construction/manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work closely with others
- Must be highly detail oriented with good verbal and communication skills
Preferences
Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s Degree- Experience in construction or structural/mechanical design
- Experience with BIM software (e.g. Tekla, Revit)
