Travel Registered Nurse (RN) ED

Travel Registered Nurse or Local Registered Nurse (RN) ED in Easton, MD

• $2300-$2500 per week, Net take home. Paid Weekly.

Position Summary:
ER nurses are the first line of defense when responding to patient injuries, trauma, or allergic reactions. They are always prepared to respond to emergencies assist doctors in emergency medical care and ensure a high quality of nursing standards are maintained.

Responsibilities Include:

• Collects current symptoms, as well as a detailed patient history and then consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Performs triage, while considering both physical and psychosocial elements
• Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes patients until the attending physician is available, based upon nursing standards and protocol
• Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology
• Works directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, diagnostic testing and treatments
• Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse
• Cleans and bandages wounds
• Provides basic, bedside careBecause patients need round-the-clock care, working hours include days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than (100) pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board
• Minimum of one (1) year ED experience
