Mariners with mechanical, floorhand, and technician experience
SUMMARY : Responsible for inspecting, monitoring, maintaining, moving, or operating machinery and heavy equipment in accordance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and customer expectations.
Strong commitment to safety, including regular participation in safety processes like JSA and behavioral-based safety observations is a must.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Inspect and test equipment to ensure the safe condition and reliability of machinery before use.
Offshore Rigger must be knowledgeable in setting up, and repairing rigging, hoists, pulling gear, and supporting structures using hand or power tools.
Offshore Rigger must be knowledgeable with attaching loads of materials to rigging and secures them for movement. Riggers must be familiar with hand signals to communicate with other workers when moving and hoisting large loads.
Offshore Riggers will thoroughly clean, dismantle, reassemble, and dress the machines. Properly hook up and secure dredge anchors.
Continuously monitors wire cables, mooring fixtures, blocks, and pulleys. Ability to work effectively with welders, fitters, and equipment operators, aiding where needed.
Ability to identify and address rigging challenges in real-time, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
EDUCATION : High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D. with proof of program completion / graduation from Maritime, Dive, or technical school.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS : TWIC card
- Driver’s License
- API RP 2D 7th Edition Rigging
- Safegulf / Rig Pass
- 1st Aid CPR AED and O2 Provider
EXPERIENCE : 2 years of verifiable related rigging experience required.
Competencies : Proactively exercise good judgment and work according to safety rules and regulations. Ability to effectively identify and communicate technical issues and information to others.
OTHER : Typical working rotation 4 weeks offshore and 4 weeks at home, variable based on projects.
JOB SCOPE : Position impacts multiple business units / segments.
WORKING CONDITIONS : Works outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
