About the Role
As the software engineering manager on the Conversion & Purchase Experience team, you are instrumental in guiding software engineers on the team to success. You will:
- Lead and mentor engineers, set forth best practices and architectural standards, while fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Work with Program, Product and leadership to define and execute the development roadmap, to meet business objectives and customer needs.
- Work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, gather feedback and deliver status updates.
- Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with team members to provide feedback, support their career development, and address any challenges or concerns.
- Monitor team performance and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency.
- Stay abreast of industry standards, regulations, and security practices related to payments processing and data privacy.
- Actively participate in hiring and onboarding processes to attract top talent and build a skilled engineering team.
About The Team
The Conversion & Purchase Experience team owns Crunchyroll’s acquisition and purchase flows, and every change the team makes has an impact on customers coming to the platform. The team builds and maintains both the frontend and backend systems that power these flows, which enable rapid experimentation and optimization. Driving membership is at the core of what this team focuses on.
About You
- Minimum 9 years of experience developing and leading the highest priority projects, delivering on customer satisfaction while also meeting business expectations.
- Experienced in managing, leading and building engineering teams. You have at least 2 years of direct people management.
- Exhibit a love of A/B testing and continuous optimization to achieve key business metrics.
- Experienced with TypeScript and Node.js, both on the frontend and backend. You have experience building web-based applications using modern web frameworks like Vue, and experience working with cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- You are a generalist who is always growing, and enjoys seeing their team grow as well.
Pluses
- Familiarity with payments and subscriptions domains.
- Experience building products for international markets.
