POSITION SUMMARY:
The Special Education teacher develops, coordinates and participates in the implementation of the educational programs for all students in the areas of academics, fine and gross motor skills, language skills, behavioral/social development and activities of daily living (feeding, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting and domestic skills). They develop the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) for each student in the class and provide supervision and evaluation of classroom teaching assistants, teacher aides and assigned float teacher aides. The Special Education Teacher is directly accountable to the Director of Special Education who provides supervision and training and is an exempt, salaried employee.
Requirements:
· Massachusetts Special Needs Teaching License is desired or License eligible waiver from DESE
· Bachelor's Degree is required
· Severe Special Needs License is desired
