Machine Maintenance Technician

Main Purpose:
This position is responsible for servicing and maintaining production machinery. Must be able to work in an industrial environment with minimal oversight. Must maintain a clean safety record, can work in and promotes a team environment and can work on all major equipment and machinery within all areas efficiently.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment by following all safety protocols and performing routine housekeeping and workplace organization.

2. Troubleshoot, maintain and repair production machinery and equipment.

3. Support production in connection with any technical issues.

4. Identify, request and periodically order parts needed to maintain equipment operation.

5. Give technical support in connection with installing new equipment.

6. Direct/train Entry and Intermediate level Techs on proper maintenance practices

7. Can effectively work through the use of the EAM system.

8. Operate material handling equipment, overhead cranes and rigging to safety accomplish tasks.

9. Good overall Communication skills.

10. Work with and direct contractors to the needs for equipment/company support.

11. Communicate with Technicians, Team Leads and Lead Coordinators with machinery repair needs.

Main Competencies:

1. High School graduate/GED

2. Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree within required technical or engineering related disciplines and 2 years work experience or a minimum of 5 years work experience from similar job.

3. Completion of 4 year apprenticeship program in heavy industry preferred.

4. Good overall communication skills.

5. Must be able to read and interpret schematics, drawings and technical documents.

6. Must have strong technical abilities with mechanical & electrical equipment.

7. Has knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and can work in a systematic and structured manner.

8. Must be proficient with the EAM system or equivalent work order system.

9. Must pass pre-employment Reading, Math, and Locating Information Assessment.

10. Able to speak, read and understand English.

Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
