What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing / Inventory Assistant position at CSW, Inc.?
OBJECTIVE: To contribute to the process of implementing new inventory and purchasing management software in a wider push to organize and streamline our business processes. This new position will need a motivated self-starter with high organizational skills to work closely with this software and take responsibility for all inventory management processes in our Ludlow, MA branch and eventually in our Rochester, NY and Sylvania, OH branches.
PURCHASING
1. Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics to raise profits by making cost-effective purchases.
2. Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts.
3. Work closely with department managers to ensure that each department has the materials they need to succeed – review and approve purchase orders, as well as issue new purchase orders based on stock levels and anticipated demand.
RECEIVING
1. Receive deliveries on the loading dock.
2. Review deliveries to ensure orders are accurately fulfilled by vendors, quality of goods, timely deliveries, and compliance to terms of contracts.
3. Unpack deliveries and ensure that they are moved to the appropriate department – safely lifting boxes up to 50 lbs., operating material handling devices such as dollies, and/or requesting the assistance of certified fork truck operators may be required at times.
INVENTORY
1. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with department managers to ensure supplies are available to support the manufacturing process.
2. Work with department managers to organize stock shelves in a way that aid both production and inventory control.
3. Perform physical inventory cycle counts.
REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years business school education or equivalent experience in accounting, purchasing or inventory management.
2. An understanding of inventory control systems utilizing an ERP inventory management system [Acumatica or similar software]
3. Ability to use math skills to calculate costs for purchase orders with meticulous accuracy.
4. Proficiency in the use of computers and programs necessary to perform the basic functions of the job [Microsoft Excel, Outlook, etc].
5. Ability to make decisions and perform the job with a minimum of guidance and direction.
6. Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers, suppliers and co-workers.
7. Ability to exercise common sense combined with knowledge and experience in making decisions.
8. Effective communication skills, oral & written.
9. Strong organizational skills and detailed orientated.
10. Experience in a manufacturing, in which raw materials produce a finished product

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
