Job Summary
This position performs basic maintenance work required for the Milford facilities. The deliverable is a safe and high level of operation for all equipment functions.
Essential Functions
- Ability to work overtime hours as needed on breakdowns and project work.

- Responsible for maintaining a high safety standard throughout the plant (preventative and predictive maintenance, repairs and improvements)
- Ability to learn the concepts of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic equipment within the factory (presses, shears, laser, overhead crane, electrical systems, air lines, water lines,
- Assist with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical machine service, repair and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform welding (Mig., Stick) and plasma cutting, torch
- Ability to understand and implement the Arc Flash plant requirements.
- Ability to perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment within facility, which includes all applicable record keeping
- Training and in-house certification required for in house spill prevention / countermeasures
- Responsible for 5S and organization of maintenance work area
- Ability to understand and implement hazard and non-hazard waste storage and labels
- Responsible to learn effective mechanical and electrical machine guarding (barrier guards and light curtains)
- Responsible for following plant safety programs (lockout / tagout,

Minimum Required Qualifications
Education : High school degree or GED or equivalent factory experience
Experience : Candidate must possess the following : Prior factory and maintenance experience required :
- This position requires a strong focus on safety.
- Ability to read, write, and do basic math in English
- Ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical prints and schematics
- Must have a general knowledge in maintenance fields of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC
- Must be available to enroll and successfully complete CTB’s sponsored Maintenance Training Program (2 to 4 years Mechanical and Electrical Industrial Degree Programs)
- CNC and CAD / CAM certification helpful
- PLC and Robotic training helpful
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Forklift license and overhead crane required
- Ability to operate scissor lift and basket lift
- Ability to work with a computer
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities (self-starter)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must be able to carry out detailed written or oral instruction
Working conditions
- Works in manufacturing environment that can be hot, noisy, oily / grease and dusty at times.
- Must be able to work in outside weather conditions (hot and humid in the summer and very cold in the winter)
- PPE required (such as long pants and shirts (100% cotton), steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, harness, hearing protection, gloves, welding PPE, arc flash PPE, air respirator)
- Working on wet surfaces (preventative maintenance in wash bay)
- Must work at heights at times with fall protection
- Must be willing to work in tight spaces at times
