Job Overview
The Parts Associate is responsible for maintaining inventory in inventory tracking system (E-Maintenance), performing usage analysis, cycle counts, keeping parts room organized and clean, dispensing parts and tools to maintenance and production personnel as needed, identifying and monitoring parts flow by part numbers, receiving all maintenance parts, picking up parts from vendors as necessary, signing vendor tickets, filling out receiving reports for accounts payable, delivering parts to maintenance personnel for particular jobs, stocking inventory in parts room and printing documentation on inventory replenishment, oversee tooling; other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
- Managing inventory based on the minimum and maximum quantities. Maintains stock at a level that enables repairs to be completed without delay. Must also maintain accurate records of parts replaced under warranty and details of faulty parts.
- Receive all parts in the inventory control system. E maint, and stock in appropriate parts bins.
- Contact vendors as needed to order parts for service or inventory, ensuring appropriate parts are ordered.
- Timely order processing
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Work closely with manager and team members to make decisions on large purchases to prevent unnecessary expenditures.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintain proper housekeeping of area to include sweeping floors, dusting walls, dumping garbage
- Use forklift to store/move items on production floor.
- Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
- Pick up parts and supplies from local vendor(s) using company vehicle as necessary.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What we need from you:
High school diploma or equivalent
One year related experience and/or training
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with people in all departments and at all levels.
Ability to operator forklift.
Good knowledge of Office Suite Processing software such as Microsoft Word, Spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel, and Database software such as Microsoft Access
