SUMMARY
As a Service Technician specializing in diesel engine marine exhaust components, your role is
crucial in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of marine vessels. You will be responsible for
installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing exhaust systems and related components in
diesel engines used in marine environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Assembly:
o Install new exhaust systems on marine vessels according to manufacturer
specifications and engineering drawings.
o Assemble and connect exhaust pipes, mufflers, silencers, and emission control
devices ensuring proper alignment and secure fittings.
2. Maintenance and Inspection:
o Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on exhaust systems to
identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
3. Troubleshooting and Repair:
o Diagnose and troubleshoot exhaust system malfunctions, including identifying and
resolving issues with exhaust gas leaks, excessive noise, and abnormal emissions.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain detailed records of service activities, including work performed, parts
used, and diagnostic findings.
o Generate service reports and communicate findings to customers and management
as required.
5. Safety and Compliance:
o Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working onboard vessels and in
workshop environments.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role, preferably in marine or heavy
equipment industries.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Must have a High School Diploma.
Must have motor coordination, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and organization skills.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and up.
Must have a grasp of the English language.
Must be able to stand over 50% of the time.
Ability to work on confined spaces.
Physical strength and dexterity to handle heavy equipment and tools.
