Duties and Responsibilities
The Electrical Foreman is responsible for coordinating the site construction schedule and execution plan, administering on-site contracts, and managing the daily issues involved during the construction. The Electrical Foreman coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. The project responsibilities will change by client and project size which will alter the degree of responsibility, and will adjust according to include planning, directing a portion of the project or the entire project.
- Provide daily and direct feedback on performance and goal progress.
- Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to organize, prioritize, and successfully lead other team members.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities, motivate workers, and communicate with workers, subordinates, project managers and clients.
- Coordinates and supervises all electrical construction activities.
- Directs all electrical field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
- Maintains electrical construction schedule, identifies, and solves problems.
- Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
- Understands the project plans, client specifications.
- Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
- Prepares, schedules, and supervises completion of a final electrical punch list.
- Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
- Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
- Maintains an organized job site, including the construction office.
- Ensure all electrical scopes of work and required access - are built as per specification.
- Ensure electrical site prep work is executed as per contracts, design, and specification.
- Ensure electrical construction - structures, major equipment, and protection and control equipment is installed.
- Input into the execution of overall electrical construction plan based on the scope of work.
- Review the engineer's drawings prior to beginning electrical construction to ensure that the project can be built in a safe and reliable manner.
- Adhere to site environmental plan.
- Manage electrical design change notices.
- Manage all electrical material on site.
- Apply the highest level of workmanship to all elements of the job: instructing crew members of the job requirements and ensuring a quality installation.
- Adhere and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the site job schedule.
- Ensure that power tools and equipment are used properly with care.
- Maintain inventory of pertinent tools, equipment, system components, and hardware.
- Thorough working knowledge of specifications and how they impact the job quality and production.
- Recommend best practice improvements for production, performance, quality, and safety.
- Must be able to recognize any changes to work plan and track accordingly.
Qualifications and skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 4 years or more experience in leading solar farm teams.
- Considerable knowledge of all construction tools, machinery methods and procedures.
- Understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DC electrical.
- Basic algebra, geometry, concepts and reading comprehension.
- Demonstrate leadership, motivate workers, and communicate with workers, subordinates, project managers and clients.
- Computer experience with Microsoft office, E-mail, and Internet preferred.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines.
- Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.
- Must be able to perform all duties required of a foreman position.
- OSHA-30, forklift, skid steer, lull and first-aid, CPR required.
