Overview: The University is seeking a dynamic and talented individual to be an active member of the University community and to promote an environment that welcomes all faiths and spiritual needs of the campus community. The Chaplain assesses student, faculty, and staff religious and spiritual needs and creates and implements programs and responses to these needs, including mental health, spiritual growth, and identity development.
In addition to providing pastoral care, personal counseling, and consultation, the Chaplain will also be expected to teach one or more sections of the Foundations of Scholarship and Learning Course (FSL 101) for entering freshmen as well as the Bible as Literature (ENG 216B). Additional teaching opportunities/responsibilities may be offered or required based on academic credentials.
Education, Experience and Certification: A Master’s Degree in theology, religion, or a related and appropriate academic area is required. Doctor of Ministry or Ph.D. preferred. Position is a nine-month academic year appointment. The beginning date of the appointment is August 15, 2024.
