We are now hiring multiple full-time Chef Manager positions to reopen our onsite dining operations.

Locations

  • Columbus Engine Plant- 500 Central Ave. Columbus, IN 47201
  • Columbus Mid-Engine Plant- 2725 W 450 S, Columbus, IN 47201
  • Cummins Technical Center- 1900 McKinley Ave. Columbus, IN 47201
  • Seymour Engine Plant- 800 E 3rd St. Seymour, IN 47274

Schedule: F/T; Flexible days and hours. More details upon during interview process.

Compensation: $50k-$60K

Requirement: Culinary degree and/or 3 years of prior culinary or retail food service management experience. COVID-19 vaccination may be required

Job Summary: Manage the day-to-day food service operation in a corporate dining setting. The position entails ensuring the standards of excellence are met, supervises staff, and supports leadership with financial responsibilities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
  • This role will be responsible for managing front and back of house operations
  • Participates in employee meetings and training programs
  • Conducts safety, sanitation and maintenance programs
  • Maintains food cost while ensuring quality standards
  • Maintains an active role in managing team developments
  • Manages purchasing and inventory controls
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned 
  • Oversee all customer service issues.
  • Hire and train hourly associates to accurately and efficiently perform all necessary work duties.
  • Oversee unit financial activities including budget development, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage all cost controls and control expenditures for the unit.
  • Execute menus as assigned by the Executive Chef.
  • Execute culinary programs in conjunction with marketing and culinary team.
  • Execute all catering events in conjunction with catering department standard operating procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons at all times
  • Ensure safe food handling of all associates per HACCP guidelines
  • Make certain all associate are practicing proper safety techniques per safety guidelines
  • Provide support to all associates ensuring a smooth operation of the account

Additional Qualifications:

  • Degree in Culinary Arts is preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • Three to Five years progressive culinary management experience
  • Self-starter, innovative and ability to multitask
  • Maintains a positive attitude under pressure and motivate team
  • Must possess a passion for excellence
  • Must be knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with  proper storage and use of food
  • Purchasing, food storage and sanitation experience
  • P&L and financial reporting experience
  • Knowledge of budgets, labor costs, inventory controls
  • Strong leadership, coaching and training skills
  • Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office and POS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional business etiquette and client relations
  • Ability to lift, bend and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles
  • Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification a plus
