We are looking for a talented Logistics Specialist to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Components Business Segment in Florence, KY.
Overview
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for enter data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock/inventory and training records; retrieve stored information to respond to enquiries (for example on inventory levels or delivery schedules.) Perform other routine administrative activities according to the organization's established procedures. These activities may include responding to customer escalations, order allocation, part profile & inventory records; preparing reports, training operators, customs compliance processes, domestic and international transportation related procedures and completing forms (receipt, transfer, delivery, dispatch, etc.)
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
Process a large volume of orders, both unit down and stock shipments using the Transportation Management System.
Maintain files and shipping records accurately and in a timely fashion.
Responsible for the daily filing and Record Retention that is required for the department.
Investigate freight discrepancies and work with our Logistics contractor to process freight claims.
Interact with other departments, customers, and freight companies.
Responsible for recording, processing, and shipping orders completed throughout the day. This includes:
Tender truckloads in proprietary TMS.
Routing orders that are ready to ship.
Entry of orders, both unit down and stock.
The tear down and attachment of bills of lading and corresponding service shippers
Contacting freight companies to notify them of shipments.
Update routing information from collect customers.
Assist Customer Service as needed, i.e. emailing P.O.D.’s and packing lists, investigate shortages, etc.
Process export orders, both international and Canadian.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Warehouse Inventory Control - Manages physical inventory utilizing inventory control methodologies to maintain inventory and meet customer expectations.
Warehouse Operations - Utilizes warehousing tools, systems, and methodologies to meet defined metrics for inbound and outbound operations of a warehouse.
Mode Selection - Evaluates and selects appropriate transportation mode and equipment type by lane through shipment volume analysis against business requirements to provide optimal shipping method (balance cost, quality and time).
Education
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, generating reports and advanced level computer skills.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
