Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic HR Specialist to join the dynamic Human Resources Department. In this role, you will be the direct assistant to the Human Resources Manager and the Plant Manager responsible for assisting the day to day activities across payroll, benefits administration, onboarding and compliance.
Essential Functions and Tasks:
This individual will provide assistance for a tenured HR team that performs various HR-related tasks that includes but is not limited to:
- Assist with full cycle onboarding of new hires
- Verify new employee I-9s in the E-Verify system
- Responsible for new hires, terminations, and contractors entered in HRIS system
- Assist with benefits enrollment paperwork and termination
- Audit personnel files for compliance and complete documentation
- Assist with employee relations and behavioral issues; advise and draft documents
- Assist with Open Enrollment of benefits
- Audit the monthly benefits invoices
- Prepare, send, and receive FMLA paperwork to eligible and ineligible employees
- Prepare, send, and receive STD claims and forward to agent
- Complete verifications of employment
- Assist with benefit information documents and responding to benefit questions
- Maintain reports and records
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with care
- Maintain confidentiality in the handling of sensitive information
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:

- Associates or Bachelor’s degree is desirable
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with Microsoft Suite Applications, preferred
- An understanding of HR terms and the handling of confidential information is required
- Must be flexible, dependable, and detail oriented
- Will consider recent graduates and individuals with at least 3-5 years’ experience in an HR setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
