Recycled Metals Technician

We are a family-owned business that buys, processes and sells scrap metals—ferrous and nonferrous—from automobiles, trucks, appliances, machines that are generated by industry through construction or deconstruction of facilities. We areheadquartered in Brainerd, MN and operate in 9 locations throughout the state.

We are currently looking for 2 Metals Recycling Technicians for our 2nd Shift team! The shift is from 3pm-1am, Monday-Thursday and reports to the CWR Assistant Manager. Essential functions include picking, sorting, equipment operations, light maintenance as trained and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understands the different types of metal commodities that will be dealt with while running what type of equipment
• Picks copper, aluminum, stainless steel, wire, and other commodities from conveyers as required for assigned line
• Communicates via radio with multiple people frequently about safety, deducts, and any other appropriate radio conversation
• Moves commodity bins to appropriate staging area locations using equipment as directed
• Keeps building, work areas, equipment, and conveyer safe for operation
• Checks daily mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of the equipment to ensure functionality
• Ensure the equipment is getting the maintenance attention it needs by keeping a list and notifying the appropriate people of any issue
• Follow company & OSHA safety guidelines
• Help assist with various projects around the facility
• Assist co-workers with various projects

Skills And Qualifications:

• One (1) or more year's Laborer experience preferred
• Forklift and/or Skid Steer experience a plus
• Must be able to work in a team environment or independently
• Must be punctual and demonstrate regular attendance
• Ability to continuously stand or walk
• Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

• Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements
• Moderate to high risk of safety precautions
• Moderate to high exposure to production environment
• Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related)
• Ability to work outside year-round

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
