As a Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing control systems for various mechanical and electrical equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of automated systems and monitoring systems to identify any issues and provide solutions. Your expertise in electrical diagrams, design, and root cause analysis will be essential in ensuring the reliability and functionality of these systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems and control panels for new and existing equipment
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot any issues with controls systems
- Create and maintain electrical diagrams and schematics
- Collaborate with other engineers and teams to integrate controls systems into overall machinery design
- Utilize automation techniques to optimize system performance and efficiency
- Install and commission control systems
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functioning of controls systems
- Create and maintain documentation, including bill of materials and machine manuals
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
- Provide technical support and training to other team members and clients
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and implementing controls systems
- Proficiency in electrical diagrams, design, and root cause analysis
- Experience with automation and monitoring systems
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and electrical equipment
- Familiarity with device placement and Electromechanical components
- Experience with Motors, Controls, and Wiring
- Knowledge of various control systems, such as HMI, PLC, Archestra, Allen Bradley, Modicon, Beckhoff, Siemens, Factory Talk, RS View, WinCC, Wonderware, ABB, Motoman, and Fanuc
- Proficiency in software
